PC-Alarm Version 2.2.12 Released

Posted by Ken Treece on 3/18/2012 5:05:00 PM •  Edit •  Comments (0)

Version 2.2.12 of the PC-Alarm and Security System software was released today (March 18, 2012).  The primary reason for this release was to fix a critical bug identified in the video surveillance module, which prevented images from being archived correctly in .jpg format.  This fix allows images to be converted from .dib format to .jpg properly for archival and remote ftp.

The latest version can be downloaded manually using our website’s downloads link.

I definitely agree with Carlos on this.  If you guys can add one (or more) zone modules to allow the additional monitoring of a simple passive "on-off" or "open-close" state via a computer serial or USB port, it would greatly expand the capabilities of your product.  It would be great to be able to connect virtually any external "on-off" device (door contacts, motion detectors, smoke detectors, or even the alarm relay output of a standard home security system) to be monitored by the PC-Alarm software.

If we can get enough users regularly using the PC-Alarm software this may be an option. We have worked on this in the past, but it does require additional hardware to plugin the devices.

Thanks for your comment!

it would be great if next release adds new zones for external devices such as movement detectors, or interlock swicthes vía PC serial port.
